NAVASOTA MUNICIPAL POOL

In the early 1930s, the pool and surrounding buildings were constructed as part of a Works Progress Administration and National Youth Association program. The original construction of the facility provided jobs for the citizens of this community who were suffering through the hard times of the Great Depressions years. From this work project came a football stadium, public swimming pool, and gymnasium, which the school district would use as part of the high schools facilities until 1998, when the pool returned to the supervision of the City of Navasota.
