Current Openings

TCOLE Certified Police Officers
Ignite your passion and serve. Become a Navasota Police Officer; apply today! Protect the City's residents and property and enforces laws and ordinances. Duties include patrolling an assigned area, generally by vehicle, responding to emergency calls and routine complaints, and taking appropriate action. Must be certified through TCOLE.

School Resource Officer
Fully commissioned police officer who works with and aids the administration and student body of the Navasota Independent School District schools. Serves as a consultant, instructor, and problem solver and generally works to reduce crime through education and promoting positive police/student relations. 

Communications Operator (Dispatcher)
Ensures smooth operation of day-to-day telecommunication functions for the police and fire departments.
Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Utility Technician
Repairs and maintains city gas facilities in proper working condition. Responsible for responding to calls for service and locating underground utilities for any type of excavation. Must be self-motivated, have good customer service skills, be able to multitask, and keep good records. Water/Wastewater License preferred but willing to train the right motivated individual. 

Gas Technician 

Repairs and maintains city gas facilities, applying safety standards to prevent hazards; understand and follow instructions; perform simple mathematical calculations; prepare concise and accurate reports; establish and maintain effective working relationship with co‑workers; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse weather conditions; and maintain appropriate necessary certifications, Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities, and good driving record.

Street & Sanitation Maintenance Laborer 

Performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to the cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of city facilities, streets, drainage systems, and right‑of‑ways.

Building Official 
$58,000-$80,000 - Depending on Experience & Qualifications 
As a key member of the Development Services team, the Building Official / Plans Reviewer reports to the Development Services Director. The Building Official / Plans Reviewer coordinates and manages the operations and activities of the City’s Building Department that includes permitting and inspection services; serves as the chief plan reviewer; evaluates construction plans/specifications for regulatory compliance; responds to public inquiries regarding the building permit process, inspections, certificates of occupancy, and related requirements; supervises commercial and residential building inspections. The Building Official / Plans Reviewer is operationally responsible for the successful, customer service-focused administration of the City’s building codes, building inspections, permit issuance, and plan reviews. Works closely with the Fire Chief to ensure fire and life safety compliance. This is accomplished by developing and implementing effective policies and procedures, for managing all plan review, inspection, and permitting procedures.

Part-Time Facilities Attendant
Assists and oversees rentals of the Navasota Center.  Performs other duties as assigned by Parks and Recreation Manager.  Meets delivery, catering, and other event personnel for setup of the rental event; is available to answer questions about the Facility; supervises setup and breakdown of Facility; supervises activities during the rental to ensure that all building policies are followed.  Responsible for cleaning the Facility.  

Park and Facilities Crew Leader
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director, the Parks & Facilities Maintenance Crew Leader Performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to the care and maintenance of the City parks, airport, cemetery, recreational sports fields, swimming pool, pavilions, or other City facilities; managing and monitoring the day-to-day activities of an assigned work crew; and for performing maintenance and repair duties.
