DESCRIPTION:
In the early 1930s, the Navasota Municipal Pool and its adjacent structures were built as part of the Works Progress Administration and National Youth Association program. This original construction initiative aimed to generate employment opportunities for the community during the challenging times of the Great Depression. The outcome of this effort included the creation of a football stadium, a public swimming pool, and a gymnasium. These facilities became integral parts of the high school's amenities until 1998 when the pool reverted oversight to the City of Navasota.
